Earn your Death: 17 July 2025
There is great joy in simplicity, and it’s something you don’t always appreciate until you seek it out.
I have been on a quest lately to create more simplicity in my life, which requires honest introspection. I chiseled down my social media time to almost nothing. Sure, I post, but I don’t care to see what others have to say. That’s not me being too good to care; that’s me realizing that I don’t need to fall into the trap of consuming rather than creating.
Simplicity guides my coaching and my life. How can I make things simpler? Simple doesn’t mean easier by any means; it means you take out what you don’t need and reinforce what you do need. If you look at my clothing, it’s a collection of blacks, military greens, tans, and shades of grey. Everything I wear is simple, from my shoes to my hats. There’s nothing trendy or outlandish. If you look at how I train, it’s simple. If you look at how I eat, it’s simple. If you were a fly on the wall in my life, it’s simple. More importantly, if you look at my relationship, it’s simple, and we enjoy it.
Instead of seeking more, seek less. By seeking less, you create more. More meaning, more love, better connections, and your world becomes smaller and more intimate.
It’s easy to lose your way in a hyper-connected society that values consumption and status, but it’s more rewarding to keep things simple, meaningful, productive, and worthwhile.
In the end, we will all die, and we will not be judged by how much we have, our social media followers, or any other temporary metric. We will be judged by how well we have lived our lives with the people that matter the most.
What matters the most to you?
